behind the scenes at the first photoshoot of JJAYCE
The inaugural photoshoot for jjayce.com, a cutting-edge fashion brand, was an awe-inspiring affair. Our astonishing location in the centre of Roermond buzzed with creativity as models donned avant-garde designs, showcasing the brand’s unique vision. The photographer expertly captured the essence of each ensemble, revealing the perfect blend of sophistication and edginess. The team’s meticulous attention to detail and passion for refashion radiated through every shot, leaving no doubt that jjayce.com was poised to make a lasting mark in the industry. This debut photoshoot was a triumph, setting the stage for the brand’s meteoric rise in the fashion world.
I want to thank everybody who made this dream come true ❤ and especially my parents, my brother, Jeroen and Jan for this amazing location, Bart and his dedicated crew and of course my models Afke, Hana, Myrthe Marciano, Olayinka, Stan and Xander.
the paper dress
The paper dress was a school assignment in 2023 where I received a long disposable blouse made of delicate, papery fabric that was see-through and easily tore. The task was to create a new product, preferably in the direction of clothing or accessories, using this material. However, we were also allowed to use the material exclusively for a different type of object. I made a three-piece outfit consisting of a mini skirt, a corset, and a cropped jacket.
the denim shoe box
During my first year at school, I previously had to transform an existing chair into a new one. In doing so, I added denim to a silver chair. The intention was to place this chair in a setting where it shines and then design another object to go with it. I envisioned my chair in a modern house owned by a collector of contemporary art, sneakers, and streetwear—perhaps even a hypebeast.
As I wanted to create a collector’s item, I turned a shoebox into a denim piece. It can be displayed decoratively on its own or used to showcase sneakers. To incorporate the silver aspect of the chair, I made it into a bag using silver details. Additionally, I created a small denim crossbody bag with the same silver accents, which I now use as an accessory for my outfits.
the cardboard Air Max 1 Lumiere
In 2022, at school we received the assignment to create a charm solely from cardboard material to be used on a necklace or bracelet, but on a larger scale. My own Air Max 1 Lumiere has a charm attached to it, which inspired me to replicate an Air Max 1 Lumiere from cardboard including the charm as to me the Air Max 1 Lumiere is a really cool shoe.
